We are seeking a Senior Consultant to serve as part of an integrated solutions delivery team, ensuring high quality delivery and focusing on building COE’s capacity to deliver through deep functional expertise. Key responsibilities include providing expert level consultation to client organizations to assist them in achieving measurable improvements in their organizational performance; leading consulting engagements; developing COE staff in functional capacities as well as consulting skills; building senior level relationships and effectively managing client relationships; identifying and developing opportunities for additional business; and developing a visible, external thought leadership role in the industry.

The role requires a person who has proven broad and deep experience in the Federal market sector with a track record of high quality delivery and market expansion. This role also requires a motivated self-starter with advanced critical thinking skills who can build relationships and mentor COE consulting staff. 

Successful candidates will have 10+ years consulting experience in organizational effectiveness, including HR strategy and planning, OD and change, business process improvement, leadership development, performance management as well as a demonstrated industry thought leadership position in these areas. Knowledge of the Federal acquisition cycle is highly desired.

The primary worksite location for this position will be our headquarters office in Rockville, MD, with occasional travel to local client sites within the Washington DC/Metro area. Due to COVID-19, the position is temporarily a remote assignment.

Responsibilities

Your role will initially include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Provide expert level consultation to client organizations to assist them in achieving measurable improvements in their organizational performance.
  • Manage contracts through scope validation and relationship management with prime and sub contractors.
  • Develop work plans, schedules, quality management plans and implementation strategies.
  • Lead midsize to large and/or strategic engagements and manage resources from opportunity qualification through delivery and closeout; achieve cost, schedule, and quality metrics.
  • Function as primary point of contact and build effective relationships with Client leadership, client technical POCs, CORs and COs.
  • Provide thought leadership in more than one area of core business and mentor junior staff in developing capacity in core functional areas.
  • Develop whitepapers and proposals.
  • Serve as senior expert in the development of intellectual capital, marketing materials and internal job aids.
  • Establish external thought-leadership position on organizational effectiveness and related topics through articles, white papers, blog posts, and other social media tools.

Experience and Skills

  • Master’s degree in field related to core service offerings
  • Ten+ years experience in management consulting and demonstrated experience in several of the following areas:
    • Organizational Assessment and Improvement
    • Strategic Planning and Support
    • Business Process Improvement
    • Human Capital Strategy and Management
    • Workforce Planning
    • Leadership Support
    • Performance Management and Measurement
    • Change Guidance
  • Five + years experience managing complex projects and leading project teams.
  • Public speaking or authorship of papers in areas related to core service offerings.
  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment.
