About the Role

In anticipation of a contract award, COE is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Change Management Consultant. This role will focus on changes transformations to organizations, processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. This position is a hybrid role with primary focus on telework, with occasional travel to local client site(s) within the Washington DC/Metro area. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

This role will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Perform an analysis and assessment of the organization, including past organizational changes and staffing models, a gap analysis, and an assessment of key elements affecting the operational abilities and successes. This will include organizational and staff readiness and ability to accept and roll out organizational improvements and transformations.
  • Implement Human Centered Design techniques, assisting in the design of critical organizational changes to meet customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Apply a comprehensive and structured change management approach and methodology for transformation and change efforts.
  • Make recommendations and develop an Action Plan addressing a gap analysis.
  • Develop change management strategies based on a situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change.
  • Identify potential risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
  • Integrate change management with transformational actions and measure results of change management achievement and results.
  • Conduct readiness assessments, evaluate results, and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Develop a set of actionable and targeted change management plans - including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, and resistance management plan.
  • Coach organizational leaders and support the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders.

Experience and Skills

  • Must have prior experience working with the Federal Government. Candidates without Federal experience will not be considered.
  • Advanced degree in organizational change, communications, design, or related discipline.
  • Certification in change management.
  • Eight+ years of experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.
  • A solid understanding of organizational assessment and change having participated in organizational transformations.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal, and excellent active listening skills.
  • Able to work and effectively coach managers and leaders at all levels in an organization.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
