About the Role

In anticipation of a contract award, COE is seeking customer-focused senior-level Data Scientist to provide expert consulting in collecting information, engaging multiple stakeholders, and assessing organizational effectiveness for our federal client. This position is responsible for the assimilation of information from multiple sources and developing documentation to support SOPs, organizational redesign, and/or process improvements for our client to optimize their delivery of services. This position is a hybrid role with primary focus on telework with occasional travel to local client site(s) within the Washington DC/Metro area.

Responsibilities

The candidate should apply with proven experience to execute the following:

  • Advising on AI/ML approaches by communicating changes in the industry, government policy, and applicable regulations.
  • Designing and building ML models using natural language processing and other methods.
  • Designing and building ML models to perform matching on structured and unstructured data sources as the basis for real world recommender engines.
  • Collaborating with UI/UX developers, ML engineers, and software engineers to design, build, deploy, and evaluate end-to-end solutions and ML feature prototypes.
  • Identifying performance metrics for ML models and monitoring performance throughout the development, testing, and deployment cycle.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts across government to generate training and ground truth data for ML projects.
  • Developing and executing analysis plans to respond to requests for research/data analysis from government leadership, and customer agencies.
  • Clearly and concisely presenting findings of analytical products to non-technical audiences.
  • Leverage data analysis to construct strategic narratives.
  • Developing requirements for and testing machine learning operations workflows.
  • Present quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listen to identify business problems and their causes.

Experience and Skills

  • Must have prior experience working with the Federal Government. Candidates without Federal experience will not be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, social / physical / life science, business, or related field OR minimum five (5) years of experience in data analytics or a directly related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of analytical experience, in product / BI analytics, business operations.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization platforms.
  • History of ethical and value-based performance.
  • US citizenship is required.
